Iggy the Iguana Blue No Tongue

The blue Iggy is the plain-coloured one, and like the tie-dyed version he has no tongue. His swing tag is found at the spine or at the foot, which is a habit the two tongueless versions share and the two later ones do not.

Blue is the version most often mistaken for Rainbow. Ty made both Iggy and Rainbow in a blue and a tie-dyed look, so the colour alone will not tell you which one you are holding. The name on the tush tag will.

That overlap was deliberate rather than accidental. Ty's production teams appear to have confused iguanas with chameleons, and built Iggy, an iguana, and Rainbow, a chameleon under style 4037, with each other's appearance. Collectors are better off treating it as a flaw in the concept than hunting for an error that was never made.

None of this makes the blue version scarce. It ran alongside the pastel and neon releases into 1999, in the same very large numbers as the rest.
