Tank the Armadillo – 7 Lines, No Shell

The seven-line Tank is the first of three versions made under the same style number, and the count of stitched lines on his sides is how you tell them apart. He has seven vertical lines of stitching on each side, standing for an armadillo's plates. The second version has nine, and the third has nine plus a horizontal border under them that reads as a shell.

He was retired on 1 June 1996, the day the nine-line version arrived, after five months in production. Eight-line examples are a documented oddity, so count carefully before deciding which version you have. His fabric is the one Ty used on Mel and Spike.
