Rainbow the Chameleon Blue

The blue Rainbow ran far longer than the tie-dyed version, arriving 1 August 1998 and staying in production until 31 March 1999, about eight months against the tie-dyed bear's two.

Blue is the color most often confused with Iggy the Iguana, style 4038, since Ty made both animals in matching blue and tie-dyed patterns after mixing up the two species during development. The tush tag is what tells them apart. There is no error to find here, only a concept the production teams got wrong from the start.

One documented oddity on Rainbow is a bear wearing a Mel tush tag instead of its own; another has turned up with a Spunky tush tag. Neither changes what a genuine blue Rainbow is worth, since Ty made both colors in numbers large enough that scarcity was never really in play.
