How to identify light blue Peanut
Start with the fabric: this version is pale blue, with pink inner ears. The earlier royal blue Peanut has a much darker body.
Check the tags alongside the toy. Light blue Peanut appears with several tag generations, listed above. TyCollector documents peach-colored ears on counterfeit examples; treat that as a reason to investigate further, rather than a complete authentication test.
Peanut also appeared as a miniature Teenie Beanie and a larger Beanie Buddy. Identify the toy line before comparing tags or market records.
Peanut beyond the toy shelf
Light blue Peanut appeared at two Oakland A’s baseball giveaways in 1998, with 15,000 handed out at each game. Both promotions took place after this version’s retirement.
