Lucky the Ladybug 11 Spot

Lucky the Ladybug with 11 spots is the last of three versions Ty made under style 4040, and the one that ran longest. She arrived in 1996 and was retired on 1 May 1998, across fourth and fifth generation swing tags and tush tags from the third generation through the sixth. That is the widest tag range of the three Luckys, so an 11-spot with almost any pairing from those years is plausible.

She is also the Lucky that went to the ballpark. On 31 July 1998, 10,000 were given away at a Minnesota Twins game against the Toronto Blue Jays, nearly three months after she had been retired.

Mismatched tush tags are the 11-spot's particular habit, with documented examples wearing tags that belong to Pouch, Snort and Sparky. Across both the 11 and 21 spot versions, collectors have also recorded a Lucky with 11 spots on one side and 21 on the other, one with spots on only one side, and one with seven legs.

Counterfeits go after the 21-spot version rather than this one. The 11-spot shares the lotto poem with the 21-spot, and only the original seven-spot Lucky went without a poem in her swing tag.
