This version of the original Clubby has “00” printed at the upper right of the Ty logo on its sewn-in tush tag. That marking is the key detail. A photograph of the blue bear from the front will not distinguish it from an ordinary Clubby.
The 00 tag is associated with early retailer and promotional distribution. Other original Clubby tags carry 01, 02 or 03. Collector accounts give very small production estimates for 00, but there is no confirmed public production total.
Look for a legible close-up of the actual tush tag, as shown in the reference photo. Early promotional display cases are part of Clubby’s history, but a case by itself does not establish which numbered tag is on the bear.
