The first of two Masterpiece Collection waves put eight Disney figures inside miniature replica VHS clamshells, each reproducing its film's actual retail cover art of the moment. The figures are unusually good for Happy Meal premiums: roughly three to four inches of PVC with poseable arms and heads, and fabric or flocked details such as Snow White's cloth skirt, Merlin's hair beard, Robin Hood's fluffy tail and Scat Cat's fuzzy belly.

Corner banners on the boxes read Available On Video for titles already released and Coming To Video for those still pending, which is why the Aristocats box differs from its neighbours.

Identification notes

This wave is very widely mislabelled as 1995. The packaging carries a 1995 McDonald's copyright line while the bag itself was physically printed on 19 March 1996 for a spring 1996 promotion, and sellers read the copyright as the year. Numbering runs 1 to 8 within the wave. One box in this wave is not Masterpiece-branded at all: The Return of Jafar reads Walt Disney Home Video Presents. A Dumbo under-3 premium marked FC# MCDY-878 belongs to this wave and accounts for descriptions of a set of nine.
