Zip the Cat White Paws

Zip the Cat's white paws version was the last of four color combinations Ty made for the character. It is the one that finally shipped with a red and white tush tag, since the earlier three were tagged only in black and white. The full set runs white face with magenta whiskers, white face with pink whiskers, all black, and white paws, each carrying its own swing tag generation, with white paws spanning the widest range at third, fourth or fifth.

Counterfeits of Zip target the all black version specifically, not white paws. A fake has a shorter body, whisker threads that run lighter and thinner than the authentic pink, and pellets with flat ends shaped like small cans rather than round ones. The eyes sit too far back on the head, and the swing tag card stock runs shiny and orange-red rather than the true red of a genuine tag.

All four Zip versions share the same style number, so it is the swing tag color and generation, together with the tush tag color, that tell one apart from another rather than any difference in body shape.
