Web the Spider

Web is the spider from Ty's 1994 releases, and one of the early retirements, gone by the start of 1996. He was made without a birthday or a poem.

He is found with first, second and third generation swing tags, and only the first generation tush tag. On a piece this early, the tush tag is the first thing to look at.

Web has been counterfeited, so check the body before the tags. An authentic Web has an orange-red stomach where the counterfeit's runs blue-red. The fake head is larger than it should be, and the legs are longer. On the swing tag, the counterfeit gold has a brassy shine instead of the plain gold of a genuine tag, and the gold edging is too thick. Open the tag and the inside white is too bright, where a real one is closer to eggshell. The inside text is too small, and on the back the numbers under the barcode are too small as well.
