Tusk the Walrus

Tusk is a walrus whose name was misspelled Tuck inside some of his swing tags. That error appeared near the end of 1996, and the Tuck version carries a fourth generation swing tag with a third generation tush tag.

The earliest Tusks can be told by their tusks. Some of the first production had them pointing up instead of down. His fabric is the same as Bessie, style 4009, Bongo, style 4067, Pouch, style 4161, and Sly, style 4115.

The poem inside the swing tag was printed with at least four different endings. Three are four-line versions that vary in the wording of the final line, and one runs to five lines with the closing words on a line of their own. So a Tusk tag is worth reading twice, once for the name and once for the verse.
