Stretch the Ostrich

Stretch was one of the most difficult Beanie Babies to produce, because of her long neck and the number of separate parts that go into her. She ran from the end of 1997 to spring 1999 with a single tag pairing, fifth generation swing and sixth generation tush, so anything else is worth a second look.

She was a baseball giveaway twice in 1998. The St. Louis Cardinals handed out 20,000 at their game against the San Francisco Giants on 22 May 1998, and the New York Yankees handed out 10,000 against the Kansas City Royals on 9 August 1998.

Documented oddities include a Stretch with a foot on backward, and examples wearing tush tags that belong to Iggy, Prance and Spunky.
