About Star the Bear Gold

Star the Bear Gold is the retail version of Star, sold without the dedication that marks the Ideation exclusive apart. Ty created Star to honor Skip Ungrodt, the former president and chairman of Ideation Inc., who died in January 2003. The blue star version made for Ideation carries a dedication inside the swing tag calling Skip a special angel, while this gold version does not. Gold also had the longer run of the two, staying in production into the summer of 2004 while the Ideation version had already retired that January.
