Squealer the Pig

Squealer is one of the original nine Beanie Babies. He was released on 8 January 1994 as style 4005, with a birthday of 23 April 1993, and stayed in production until 1 May 1998. Those four years span every swing tag generation from the first to the fifth and every tush tag from the first to the sixth. The generation on the tags is the main thing that separates one Squealer from another.

The swing tag is where his one printing error lives. His poem appears on the later generations of tag only, and a fifth generation tag exists with two spelling errors, ORIGIINAL with a doubled I and Suface missing its R. Read those two words on any fifth generation Squealer before deciding what you have.

Over a run as long as his, tush tags belonging to other characters found their way onto Squealer more than once. Documented examples wear tags for Bessie, Blackie, Chocolate and Zip. None of them changes what the pig is. The name on the tush tag is the least reliable thing about him, so identify a Squealer by the swing tag and the animal and treat the tush tag as a curiosity.
