Speedy the Turtle

Speedy the Turtle is bag number 6 in McDonald's 1997 Teenie Beanie set, the promotion planned to run five weeks from April 11 and cut short instead, on April 25, when demand emptied restaurant supplies almost immediately. McDonald's had ordered 100 million toys for the run, 10 million of each of the ten characters, so sealed bags are still easy to find today, and the bag alone does not make one valuable.

The full-size Speedy had already retired, in January 1997, by the time its Teenie miniature reached Happy Meal bags that April, and has its own record here.
