Sandy the Turtle Audubon Nature Institute

Sandy is a Ty Beanie Boo sea turtle, introduced in March 2011 as an exclusive for the Audubon Nature Institute. She supported the Louisiana Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program, with all profits from the original release donated to that program.

Ty opened her up to ordinary retailers in July 2012, selling the same design. She was redesigned later that year with legs in place of the original flippers, keeping the same swing tag and style number, 36026. The flippers-versus-legs design is the way to tell an early Sandy from the 2012 redesign.
