Rufus

Rufus is a Ty Monstaz monster. Ty tested him quietly through 15 Columbus, Ohio stores in November 2011 before the nationwide release on January 2, 2012.

The poem and birthday shown above are not the ones Rufus started with. Ty reassigned them from test-market Chester ahead of the general release. Rufus's own original test-market poem and birthday, dated December 22, are recorded on this page's test-market entry.

Ty brought Rufus back as a new release in January 2014 under a different style number, with a new birthday of January 18 and a sound chip line of its own.

The 2012 key-clip differs from the test-market version in several small ways: the embroidered "LUV ME" patch is gone, the eyes and chin seam are reworked, the fur feels silkier, the hands and feet are more detailed, and the tush tag is narrower.
