Pugsly the Pug

Pugsly arrived in May 1997 and stayed in production until spring 1999, which put him squarely in the Beanie Baby peak. He became a regular at stadium giveaways, including 10,000 at a Texas Rangers game and 12,000 at an Atlanta Braves game in the summer of 1998.

The thing collectors actually track on Pugsly is tush tags. Documented examples turn up wearing tags belonging to Bernie, Blizzard, Cubbie, Gracie, Hoot and Mel, which is a reminder that a tag with the wrong name on it is a known factory habit rather than proof of tampering.
