Nuts the Squirrel

Nuts was the first Beanie Baby to have long hair, on account of his bushy tail. He is a squirrel with a birthday of 21 January 1996.

Six different wrong-name tush tags are documented on Nuts, belonging to Dotty, Floppity, Hippity, Sly, Tuffy and Zip. Each of those left the factory that way. The swing tag is where his own name will be.

Nuts the Squirrel was bag number 8 in McDonald's 1999 Teenie Beanie promotion, one of twelve numbered animals in Happy Meals from May 21 to June 3, 1999. It came in a printed plastic bag like the rest of the numbered set, and enough were made that a sealed bag alone does not create value.
