Nana the Monkey

Nana the Monkey is the first Bongo under an earlier name, and the inside of the swing tag is the only place the difference shows. The two are otherwise identical. The name did not last long. Nana went out on 3 June 1995 and was renamed Bongo the same month, so it was in use for weeks at most.

Authentication comes down to that tag. A genuine Nana either has the name Nana printed inside the swing tag or has a Bongo sticker applied over it. Without one of those, the monkey cannot be confirmed as a Nana, whatever the listing says, because the body is the same as an early Bongo. Counterfeits exist as well, so buy one that has been authenticated rather than one that merely looks right.
