It was bag number 1 of 12 in McDonald's 2004 Teenie Beanie Babies promotion, which marked the Happy Meal's 25th anniversary and ran from July 23 to August 19, 2004.

In Canada the same bear was sold as Happy Meal 10th the Bear, because Happy Meals reached Canada later.

All twelve toys in the 2004 set are bears styled after McDonald's subjects rather than miniatures of retail Beanie Babies.
