Chillz the Penguin

Chillz is a Ty Beanie Boo penguin and the first Beanie Boo made exclusively for Five Below. Photos of him began circulating on collector blogs in October and November 2013, well before Five Below's official Black Friday sale price of $4.99 that year.

That early exposure created a brief bubble: a Chillz sold on eBay for $556.90 on November 23, 2013, then for $100 three days later and again on November 28. Prices settled once the toy reached retail.

His tush tag carries a production number of 0313, for March 2013. That is months before he showed up on shelves, evidence that he sat in hiding before release.
