Buttercup is a Santa Barbara Zoo exclusive, a Masai giraffe named after a real calf born at the zoo. Her birthday is the real Buttercup's, 13 November 2014, and the zoo handed one to each of its first 500 visitors on 7 February 2016, the day she was released.
Her swing tag carries the zoo's own introduction of the newest member of its Masai giraffe herd, and states that all of the purchase price goes to the zoo.
Her style number, 42019, was used before on the Beanie Baby giraffes named Topper, so the number alone will not tell a Buttercup from a Topper.
