Batty the Bat Tie Dye

Batty the Bat's tie-dyed version is the alternate coloring Ty made alongside the standard brown and mocha rose release. Like every Batty, he was the first Beanie Baby produced with velcro, sewn into the wings so they open and close.

Batty went out at two baseball giveaways in the summer of 1998, with 12,000 handed out at a Milwaukee Brewers versus Florida Mariners game on 31 May and another 30,000 at a New York Mets versus Montreal Expos game on 12 July.

Documented oddities on Batty include examples turning up with tush tags meant for Bongo, Peace, Ringo, Roary or Zip, a reminder that a mismatched name on the tush tag is a known factory habit rather than proof of tampering.
