Aussie the Koala was bag number 8 in McDonald's 2009 Teenie Beanie Babies promotion, the Happy Meal miniature of Ty's full-size Beanie Babies 2.0 koala. McDonald's tied the 30-toy set to the Happy Meal's 30th anniversary and ran it from April 11 to May 15, 2009. Each toy came sealed in its own numbered bag, free with a Happy Meal, and in most restaurants was also sold on its own.
Each swing tag carried a code for online games and activities at happymeal.com or ty.com, the same kind of code Ty put on its full-size Beanie Babies 2.0 line. The full-size Aussie, a Beanie Babies 2.0 koala released in 2008, has its own record here.
