The 2004 McDonald’s Teenie Beanie collection turned familiar restaurant characters and menu items into small bears. The U.S. set celebrated the Happy Meal’s 25th anniversary with twelve numbered toys.
Look for details such as Grimace’s purple color, Hamburglar’s stripes and the fries-inspired design. A surviving bag helps confirm the match, but most of the designs are recognizable when the toy is loose.

How to identify your bear
1) Use the bag number first
Read the bag number and printed name, then check that the toy inside matches the table. Keep the bag and toy together when documenting the release.
2) Use the character second
Compare the bear’s colors, clothing and embroidery with the roster. The anniversary bear needs particular attention because its wording differs between the U.S. and Canadian releases.
3) Mind the region
The Canadian collection includes a Happy Meal 10th bear in place of the U.S. Happy Meal 25th bear. Ty Collector also records French names on the Canadian swing tags. Use the wording and packaging to identify the regional release; a different anniversary number is not automatically an error.
How the 2004 set fits the Teenie family
Earlier Teenie promotions included miniature versions of familiar Ty characters. This set is recognizable for its McDonald’s-themed bear designs.
